Is It Really So Difficult To Find A Student Job Abroad?

Is It Really So Difficult To Find A Student Job Abroad?

Maybe you would love to study abroad, and the first issue on your mind is how to get the money for that. For many reasons, there is a lot of people who need or choose to support themselves while studying, and another lot of people who maybe don't really have to, but still prefer to make some money themselves, too.

So as for doing that abroad, let's look at what can make it work:

You are going to meet a lot of students like you, ...which is actually a lot of people who might need your expertise at something. So, if you have something widely useful to offer, and maybe use it already in your home country, like teaching languages, any kind of courses and classes of sports, dance, or the school subjects you are good at - simply try to offer the same thing in your new place. You can look for an institutions that would hire you, or you can try going freelance.

You will need to spread the word about it, so prepare ahead for a little bit of marketing, maybe organize your social media for that, prepare some materials you can give or send to interested people (even a business card is more than no business card)... And of course, you will need to be social to spread the word! (See our previous blogposts for some thoughts on this).

If you can get them, any certifications will be very useful - there is a lot of language or instructor certificates, maybe you can arrange some before you move to your new place of study abroad. And what is going to help as well, maybe at a later point, when you are already in your new place, are testimonials. Recommendations from your former students, and so on. Try to get some as soon as possible, if you can, it will bring you more and more interested people!

It's not actually very much you will have to do for this, but it literally pays to be prepared. We will target some details of this challenge in one of our next posts, so stay tuned and if you like, join us on our Facebook page!
